I bought the balaclava to replace the Zone3 neoprene beanie that I love, but which isn’t quite warm enough in the winter months. The balaclava is a bit hard to get on, but once on its very comfortable. It keeps me very warm and is almost dry on many spots when I take it off. I haven’t had any issues with chaffing yet, but my neck was a bit sore for the first few uses as there is more resistance to get used to when you turn your head. The only issue I’ve had is the skirt at the bottom did come untucked once during a rough water day, something I need to figure out still, and the googles I use are not easy to get a good seal because the straps can’t tighten fully over top of the balaclava.
